History

Krepel Cassettes can trace its long and rich history back to its roots at a particularly historic location. The waterfall at this historic site was built in 1808 by Bernard Wolfgang Krepel and was used to power the first Krepel copper foundry, where the foreman Johannes Richard Krepel was technical supervisor from 1732 on. When building the waterfall, the Klarenbeek brook was formed that gave its name to the neighbouring village. By the late 19th century, demand for copper was diminishing, and entrepreneur Everhard Krepel was already looking for an alternative way to earn a living and decided to capitalize on the growing cigar market. He started producing cigar boxes thus laying the foundations for Krepel Cassettes as we know it today. These days, it is a modern enterprise with production facilities in Poland and sales offices in both Poland and the Netherlands. The European market is served by the company's 200 or so employees.
